Integrative Medicine

Acupuncture is often viewed as a form of integrative therapy, and is best when used in conjunction with modern medicine. Acupuncture therapy is proficient at assessing the well-being of the whole patient, and treatments are generally non-invasive with few side effects. It is important to use both methods of care as TCVM lacks the tools necessary to pinpoint illness to specific disease-causing agents like pathogenic bacteria or viruses. Modern Medicine also offers the tools of modern science to diagnose disease with precision while offering medications and procedures, which are powerful and fast acting.

TCVM acupuncture therapy is used to assess the “larger picture”. Modern medicine can perform miracles for trauma and acute injuries, however it has little to offer chronic conditions such as liver failure or skin diseases; which can be treated effectively with acupuncture and herbal medicine. In many ways, acupuncture and modern medicine each possess what the other lacks. Southern Equine Service is equipped with the best medical system, which involves the integration of the both methods

The goal of veterinary chiropractic is to restore function and mobility to the bones of the spine, known as 'vertebrae' in an effort to re-establish nerve communication, allowing the body to perform at its optimum potential, as well as heal and regulate itself.

Our Chiropractic Veterinarian uses her hands to identify areas of restriction, and apply a precise thrust on the immobile vertebrae in an effort to restore motion and remove nerve interference.

Here are some other benefits to consider: Chiropractic care helps to increase circulation and eliminate lactic acid. It increases delivery of oxygen and nutrient supply, helps reduce muscle spasms and adhesions, increases flexibility and can improve overall performance!
